Job Description
The Patching and Repair department is responsible for the 3rd part of the manufacturing process. This includes performing complex repairs and reapplying gel coating to any defects in the boat hulls, decks, and small parts. This also includes using hand tools and power tools to apply a final finish look to all parts before being moved to assembly. Other tasks may be included in your daily tasks depending on the production needs of the company.
Daily Functions
· Examine parts for defective areas, like de-lamination, cracks, air pockets, blisters and cosmetic flaws.
· Grind out and smooth any defective, rough areas and edges using appropriate power and hand tools.
· Apply any patches needed to a defective area
· Touch up any flaws with a paint brush, ensuring a color match.
· Apply gel coating to laminated parts.
· Mix catalyst with gel coating, or resin, depending on the needs of the part.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Requirements

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
· Must be authorized to work in the United States
· Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening
Must be able to sit, stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods of time.
Must be able to lift, push and pull up to at least 20 lbs. or more for extended periods of time throughout the day. May occasionally be required to push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs.
