Position: Jr Accounts Payable Specialist
Reporting: Senior Accountant
Classification: Full Time/Hourly
Summary
The Junior Accounts Payable Specialist reports to the Senior Accountant and is responsible for ensuring the integrity of accounting information by verifying, consolidating, reconciling, and entering transactions to create accurate and timely reports for the company. Main responsibility is reconciling and process all accounts payable.
Position Responsibilities
- Matching invoices with open purchase orders prior to posting into the accounts payable system.
- Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
- Posting invoices from vendors in the accounts payable system daily for a concessions operating company
- Reconciling monthly vendor statements with invoices, researching and correcting discrepancies
- Prioritizing invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms for weekly check run
- Responsible for accurate General Ledger coding of invoices in the accounts payable system and a sound knowledge of the chart of accounts is required.
- Processing check requests
- Responding to all vendor inquiries
- Monitoring Accounts Payable Aging
- Recording daily revenue in Cash Journal and monitoring cash discrepancies.
- Assisting with voucher billing as needed to airline companies for the purpose of reimbursement.
- Assisting with month-end close and preparing and posting recurring journal entries
- Preparing and analyzing account reconciliations as needed.
- Assisting the Senior Accountant with various audits and year-end close
- Responsible for soliciting W-9s from vendors and year-end 1099 processing.
- Responsible for weekly filing of vendor payments along with proper documentation
- Responsible for daily scanning of daily sales reports
- Assisting with other projects or administrative tasks as may be required by the VP of Finance or Accounting Manager.
Education/ Background / Certifications
- An associate degree with an emphasis in accounting is required OR equivalent external work experience OR equivalent formal training in related duties.
- Must be proficient in the use of Excel Spreadsheets.
- Must be proficient in use of MS Word
- Must have very good verbal and writing skills.
- Must be well-organized and a self-starter.
- Must be a team player and possess excellent work ethics, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially during critical deadlines.
- A minimum of 1 years’ experience in accounting is required.

Qualifications
Salary : $21 - $25
