Job Summary
As an Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for coordinating, maintaining, and directing the maintenance and repair of assigned company delivery vehicles, to ensure non-stop delivery.
Job Responsibilities
- Diagnostics, Maintenance & Repair of Class-8 tractors & straight trucks, primarily Mack & Peterbilt’s
- Perform DOT inspections on all assigned class 8 Vehicles
- Maintenance & Repair of Moffett truck mounted forklifts
- Maintenance & Repair of company flatbed trailers
- Coordinate with location managers at various locations to schedule any & all work that need completed
- Fill out parts & service work orders & submit for payment & DOT vehicle service records
- Manage a parts inventory for assigned trucks, trailers & moffetts
- Maintain cleanliness of truck shop, following all company EH&S and OSHA guidelines
- Work is split between working within the truck shop and various company locations
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 3 years' experience working on heavy equipment
- Must provide own hand tools
- Forklift or Moffett experience a plus but not required
- Class B required, class A preferred
- Basic welding skills
- Ability to read & write in English
- Some overtime may be required occasionally
- Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs
- Ability to climb stairs, climb ladders, reach, squat, tolerate prolonged standing/walking, balance, bend from trunk, operate mobile equipment, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects
- Ability to operate hand controls with both hands and foot pedals with both feet
- Ability to perform sustained overhead reaching
