Service Repair
Immediate Supervisor: Michael Szymanski
Summary Description:
Under direct supervision of the Service Manager, performs skilled work in the mechanical repair and maintenance of machines and equipment both in the field and in shop; performs related work as required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Repairs, prepares, adjusts, services, installs, tests and maintains vending machinery and equipment in shop and/or in the field; analyzes malfunctions and performs general repairs; listens to and resolves customer service complaints; plans work procedures, using service orders given each day; accountable for an accurate inventory of parts and equipment on truck; responsible for checking in/out with supervisor daily; notifies parts manager as parts are needed; delivers product as needed; assists with account installations as needed; completes all necessary paperwork; maintains detailed records of time and materials used in each job; inspects and tests repaired equipment.
Employment Standards:
Education/Experience Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
1. Completion of the twelfth (12) grade.
Knowledge Methods, materials, tools and techniques used in the repair and maintenance of a variety of vending and mechanical equipment; operating principles of vending and related equipment; knowledge of refrigeration and cooling systems.
occupational hazards and standard safety precautions necessary in the work; basic machinery operations; operation of forklift and vehicles; basic mathematical calculations; Engages in safe work practices.
Skill Understanding and carrying out oral and written instructions; locating, correcting and adjusting defects in vending and mechanical equipment; performing skilled work in repairing and maintaining such equipment; reading, writing and performing mathematical calculations at the level required for successful job performance; setting work priorities and organizing work schedule; working cooperatively with others; using good judgment in decision making situations; some heavy physical labor and lifting.
Licenses: Possession of a valid NYS motor vehicle operator’s license with a good driving record.
