Salary: $36,750 - $37,430 annually
SUMMARY:
This is a professional clerical position assigned to the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County, Criminal Division, Adult Probation. The support staff’s responsibilities include daily office operations which are under the supervision of the department supervisor. Additional duties may be at the request of other adult probation staff. This individual’s assignments generally follow routine procedures, which are reviewed regularly, upon completion. Initiative, independent judgment, flexibility, and ongoing training are required.
Standard work hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
- Ability to manage electronic files, type at least 45 words a minute, and general knowledge of office equipment.
- Microsoft Office skills required.
- Strong organizational, communication and writing skills
- Ability to deal with time driven, multi-tasked, diverse work environment. Ability to make judgement decisions and adapt to changing work situations.
- General office conditions requiring the ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, and reach. Manual dexterity and range of hearing/vision sufficient to operate fast paced office. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive, review, sort and direct incoming and interoffice correspondence.
- Answering, screening and routing calls to appropriate staff.
- Greeting and directing visitors.
- Prepare and assist with general and confidential correspondence, reports and other documents as necessary for the supervisor and all other unit employees.
- Provide support for other adult probation departments if needed.
- Ensure office equipment is in operating condition and maintain office supplies.
- Data entry in the department’s database system.
- Perform any duty as required or assigned by supervisor.
