Position Summary :

The Director, Pricing and Contracting, will lead the development and implementation of pricing strategies and contract management for all products. This position is responsible for establishing competitive price points, managing contracts with payers and healthcare providers, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory guidelines. This position will also be responsible for providing pricing input to the GPT and forecasting for pipeline programs.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities :

These may include but are not limited to :

  • Develop, manage, and maintain Crinetics’ brand pricing and contracting strategies through product lifecycle and that align with optimal market performance.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to develop strategies and recommendations to optimize Crinetics’ pricing and contracting effectiveness, patient access, and competitive advantage.
  • Execution of list and net pricing strategies, and monitoring and evaluation of contract performance for all customer segments (e.g., Managed Care, Non-Federal Hospitals, Long-Term Care, Medicare Part D, Medicaid (FFS & MM), Exchanges and Federal).
  • Oversee Government Contract operations, including ensuring accurate and timely submissions across Government Prices, such as AMP, BP, 340B, URA, NFAMP, other state reporting, and validations of TPA calculations.
  • Function as Government Pricing lead over the Sub-Certification process to assess impact of internal controls and changes to the process flows as they relate to the accurate calculation of Government Price types.
  • Stay abreast of macro trends in the healthcare environment that potentially impact current and / or future product pricing, contracting, and associated strategies across Crinetics’ product portfolio.
  • Develop, analyze, and manage contract offerings for managed care accounts in collaboration with account management team. Ensure execution of approved and finalized customer contracts, including timely and accurate hand-off to other internal partners / stakeholders.
  • Monitor existing customer contracts using approved performance methodologies and tools, including identifying and recommending opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure all pricing and contracting activities adhere to industry regulations, and internal policies maintain business integrity and ethical standards.
  • Collect, interpret, and disseminate internal and external pricing and contracting information to help internal customers, partners, and other stakeholders with timely decision-making, aligning with brand and corporate opportunities and / or risks.
  • Work with finance to develop and maintain gross to net forecast and government rebate forecast (including Medicare and Medicaid rebates), and to accurately reflect gross / net revenues and respond to audit requests.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including payers, healthcare providers, and industry organizations.
  • Establish performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of pricing strategies and contract initiatives; report findings to senior management and recommend improvements.

Education and Experience :

Required :

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, or a related field; MBA is a plus with a minimum of 15 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proven experience (8 years) in pricing strategy, contracting, or market access facing payers, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and market trends.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of the healthcare landscape and payer dynamics; experience in endocrinology, rare disease, orphan, or ultra-orphan a plus.
  • Deep understanding of Commercial, Exchange, and government payer systems.
  • Proficient in relevant policies and guidelines that affect managed care contracts and contract administration, pricing, and payment adjustments.
  • Strong knowledge of systems and reporting mechanisms that support pharmaceutical contract administration. Working knowledge of pricing and contracting strategy development methodologies and modeling.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of current policies and guidelines that affect contracts, pricing, rebates etc. in the managed care environment.
  • Strong leadership skills, with demonstrated capabilities to be agile and nimble in a start-up organization.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills; a flexible, collaborative, and team-oriented approach to problem solving; and an ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Preferred :

  • Experience with lifecycle management and value-based contracting.
  • Familiarity with regulatory reimbursement frameworks and health economics.
  • Physical Demands and Work Environment :

    Physical Activities :

    On a continuous basis, sit at desk for a long period of time; intermittently answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking and lifting up to 25 lbs., may be required. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate.     Travel :

    You may be required to travel for up to 30% of your time.

    The Anticipated Base Salary Range : $180,000 - $225,000

    In addition to your base pay, our total rewards program consists of a discretionary annual target bonus, stock options, ESPP, and 401k match.     The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience and education. Crinetics Pharmaceuticals is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
