About Us
We are a growing Dental Support Organization (DSO) managing nine dental practices across the west side of Oregon. Our practices serve a diverse patient base, including private insurance and Medicaid payors. As we expand, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to lead our dental insurance and patient billing operations, ensuring excellence in service and compliance across our clinics.
Position Summary
The Dental Biller will oversee all aspects of insurance and patient billing processes. This role involves managing billing operations, contracting new providers and clinics, negotiating payer contracts and capitation agreements, and providing strategic oversight of billing and revenue cycle management for our clinics. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of dental billing, insurance processes, and a proven ability to lead teams in a multi-location environment.
Key Responsibilities
Billing Operations:
- Oversee daily insurance and patient billing processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
- Manage and resolve complex billing issues, including denied claims, appeals, and adjustments.
- Ensure timely and accurate posting of payments and adjustments.
Provider and Clinic Contracting:
- Handle credentialing and contracting of new providers and clinics with insurance payors.
- Maintain updated contracts and compliance documentation for all providers.
Payer Contract Negotiation:
- Collaborate with Unitus to negotiate contracts with private insurance and Medicaid payors, including capitation agreements and fee schedules.
- Identify opportunities to optimize reimbursement rates and terms.
Revenue Cycle Oversight:
- Monitor revenue cycle KPIs, such as days in accounts receivable (AR), claim rejection rates, and patient collections.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve financial performance and cash flow.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, train, and mentor front office staff to ensure high performance and adherence to policies.
- Coordinate with clinic managers to address billing-related issues and improve workflows.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer-specific billing regulations.
- Prepare and present reports on revenue cycle performance, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
- Medicare grievance complaints reviews
- Monthly ODS complaints reviews.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in dental billing, insurance contracting, or revenue cycle management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
Skills & Expertise:
- In-depth knowledge of dental billing practices, Medicaid, private insurance, and payer credentialing.
- Strong negotiation skills, particularly with payer contracts and capitation agreements.
- Proficiency in dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) and billing platforms.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret and act on financial data.

Location and Work Environment
This position is in-person, ideally based in Roseburg, Eugene, or Grants Pass, Oregon. While a hybrid work setup may be considered for the right candidate, the role requires periodic travel to our clinic locations for onsite support and oversight as well as some after hours responsibilities outside of the office.
