The Crisis Center is seeking a Full -Time Direct Care Professional to join our team to support our Residential Programs. Our programs provide trauma-informed treatment and support services to children in need of emergency residential services and long-term residential care.
This position will provide direct service in the residential group care setting. As a direct care worker, you will:
- Provide personal support to our residents through coaching, modeling, engagement, and support of residents.
- Support our residents as they carry out daily living activities, recreational activities, developing self-care skills (health/hygiene), and schoolwork and/or homework.
- Be part of a treatment team utilizing the tasks of daily living as instrumental treatment components while also helping to create a sense of permanency in a home-like environment.
- Contribute to identifying needs or emerging needs, physical and mental health well-being, medication administration, personal support, and watchful oversight
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized facility and maintaining staff office, charts, and documentation.
- May provide transportation as requested to and from appointments and visits.
The position requires continuous supervision of clients while they engage in their daily living activities. It also requires attending monthly program staff meetings and participating in other meetings as necessary. Work is performed, reviewed, and evaluated under the supervision of the Program Director and/or Program Manager.
This position varies with time and provides training as well as growth and compensation incentives. Our residential programs operate on a 24-hour/day, 7-days a-week basis. A willingness to have availability on some weekends/holidays is required.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Milieu Management.
- Provide personal support to our residents through coaching, modeling, and engagement.
- Conducts structured life skill/interactive group activities and discussions
- Prepares paperwork and other documentation, i.e. points, observations, etc.
- Attends team meetings as needed.
- Communicates and documents critical information and incidents
- Maintains and assures youth confidentiality.
- Interacts in a supportive manner with youth, the community, and referral sources.
- Assists in chart auditing and files paper and documents in chart binders.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver's license. - Insurable on agency vehicles. (Must have a clean driving record for 5 years).
- High School Diploma/GED Required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred in social services or related field.
- Minimum of one-year experience working with at-risk kids or in a position in the social services field.
