Crisis Support Specialist - 1st Shift Weekends
Schedule Available :
Saturday - Sunday 6 : 45 am - 3 : 00 pm
One 4 hour on-call shift per week
Overview :
Crisis Support Specialist manages Crisis Nursery's 24 / 7 crisis line. Responsibilities include scheduling crisis care, ensuring adequate supervision of children, and documenting services. The Crisis Support Specialist greets and directs individuals entering the facility, works with families to schedule care, conducts intakes / exit interviews, identifies and responds to family needs, and makes referrals. The Crisis Support Specialist reports to the Director of Programming.
Essential duties :
- Answers Crisis Line, schedules crisis care, and directs phone calls to the appropriate staff person.
- Schedules children, prioritizes families, and maintains a safe ratio of children : adults.
- Completes all parent intake and exit interviews.
- Performs detailed health assessments (body chart if appropriate) of each child upon intake.
- Conducts family assessments and surveys with clients; takes appropriate action when needed to follow up on results.
- Ensures all paperwork is correct and updated, including data collection and client files.
- Provides families with detailed information about their child's time at the Nursery.
- Performs follow-up calls to all Crisis Nursery clients and makes referrals to Strong Families Program, when appropriate.
- Maintains the Program Office by greeting individuals, keeping office supplies stocked, orders meals, calls the laundry services, and ensures all paperwork is up-to-date and completed.
- Assists in training new staff and interns on Program Office responsibilities.
- Ensures the needs of families are identified and referrals are made if necessary.
- Collaborates with the Children's Specialist regarding daily volunteer information and the care and scheduling of children.
- Coordinates introductions between new volunteers and the Children's Specialist.
- Assures a healthy, safe and clean environment for children.
- Interacts with children while following the Crisis Nursery philosophy.
- Attends weekly team meetings, bi-monthly all-staff meetings, and monthly CA meetings
