Program Director, Advocate Department
Crisis Services is currently seeking a Program Director to oversee a dynamic and multidimensional 24-hour sexual assault and domestic violence services department comprised of staff and volunteers. The Director is responsible for departmental operations to ensure continuity of exceptional victim services to survivors of domestic violence, family violence, sexual violence and/or elder abuse. The Director serves as a member of the Organization’s Leadership Team helping to provide guidance and input on agency operations and administrative duties. This position plays a critical role in supporting our mission to provide crisis support to anyone in need.

About this opportunity:
The Advocate Department functions as Erie County’s Rape Crisis Center & NYS approved Non-Residential Domestic Violence Service Provider and has robust Case Management and Prevention Education Teams. The Department is responsible for the Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner (SAFE) Program serving Catholic and Kaleida Health Hospitals in Erie and Niagara Counties. The Program Director negotiates and maintains effective interagency and community multidisciplinary communication while ensuring service availability and administrative consultation on a 24-hour basis. Grant compliance and budget development and management are also key responsibilities of the Director’s role.
Job Type:
- Full Time, 40 hours per week
Pay:
- $70,000 per year; with additional consideration based on candidate qualifications and experience.
Schedule:
- Flexible within regular business hours, with some evening hours, as needed
- Monday through Friday
- Responsible for participation in rotating on-call supervisory consult responsibilities outside of scheduled work week and providing 24-hour administrative consultation to managers on call.
Work Setting:
- Office-based with remote capabilities
What you will bring to this position:
- Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, psychiatric/community nursing, public health or any combination of education and experience that would provide an equivalent background. Business or management degree with human services/nonprofit specialty would also be considered.
- Minimum of 4 years’ professional experience, including two years of relevant direct service experience preferably in social work; public health and/or sexual violence prevention work.
- At least two years of supervisory experience including demonstrated ability and experience working with diverse populations.
- Successful track record navigating complex budgetary processes.
- Demonstrated understanding of grant management, including grant writing, budget, data management reporting and grant compliance.
- Knowledge of sexual violence dynamics and effects, public awareness, prevention education and crisis intervention services.
- Excellent data management, QA/QI skills, public-speaking skills, professional verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving, leadership, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills, and advanced knowledge in computer applications.
- Successful experience leading cross-functional teams to achieve organization-wide goals preferred.
- A valid NYS driver’s license and access to a usable vehicle.
