GSOC Team Lead – Menlo Park, CA (onsite)
Summary:
Reporting to the GSOC Manager, this position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the GSOC and will be responsible for mentoring analysts, streamlining standard operating procedures, responding to incidents, and administrative tasks related to the GSOC. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in security operations, strong leadership abilities, and a proven track record of implementing effective security measures to safeguard personnel, assets, and information.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Development: Support the GSOC Manager in managing a team of highly skilled security professionals. Promote a culture of excellence, discipline, innovation, and continuous learning. Mentor and develop staff to ensure they meet the highest standards in security operations.
Mentor the Team: Assist in training analysts through Situation Based Training (SBTs) and provide feedback & support to ensure that analysts are competent and effective.
Client Relationship Management: Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, ensuring all communications are professional and addressing any concerns promptly to ensure resolution is satisfactory.
Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement: Oversee the quality of work performed by the team, conducting regular audits and providing feedback to enhance performance. Continuously evaluate and improve GSOC processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
Security Protocols and Crisis Management: Establish and enforce stringent security protocols and develop comprehensive crisis management plans. Lead the team in managing critical incidents effectively to minimize impact.
Technology and Security Program Development: Stay informed on security technology & best practices and make benchmarking & optimization recommendations to our client to assist in meeting or exceeding industry standards for safety & readiness.
OSINT & Active Monitoring: Assist in conducting & coordinating OSINT, research requests, and event/risk assessments to increase the client’s awareness on threats & safety concerns. The Team Lead will be responsible in maintaining and updating boolean search chains and maintaining the GSOC's collection of sources & information.
Scheduling: The GSOC Team Lead must assist with scheduling which includes planning the team schedule out a month in advanced. They must also communicate with Crisis24 and client management as appropriate on schedule changes.
Required and Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field is strongly preferred. Either bachelor's degree or equivalent military experience
Have an interest or direct experience in the following: Intelligence, Security Operations, Corporate Security, or Crisis Management.
2 years of experience as a GSOC analyst or working with incident management technology and OSINT monitoring
2 years of experience as a people leader / manager
Must be well-versed in current technologies and open-source search methodologies
Must be a competent user of Google Workspace, Microsoft Suite, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and other similar tools
Must be willing to sign an NDA and maintain strict confidentiality
Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Ability to maintain a professional demeanor during stressful situations
Must be able to quickly adapt and excel in dynamic situations
Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
Successful client management experience
A demonstrated history of effective conflict resolution skills
Maintain composure in dealing with authorities, executives, clients, and staff occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations
Ability to work 8 to 12-hour shifts both days and nights
Experience using OSINT tools such as Dataminr, ,Ontic, and ISOS etc.
