Cristo Rey Charleston High School is a college preparatory, Catholic school for students of all faiths, that will educate young people of limited resources to become persons of faith, purpose, and service. Cristo Rey Charleston High School is the 42nd Cristo Rey model school in the United States and will welcome the founding class of students in August of 2026. The school will be located in North Charleston, SC and will serve approximately 400 students in grades 9-12 from across the greater Charleston area. Each student participates in the Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP), an integral part of the Cristo Rey model in which every student works one day a week throughout their four years at the school. The one day per week students are at work, teachers have extended planning and collaboration opportunities.

Founding Executive Assistant
Position Summary:
Cristo Rey Charleston High School seeks a mission-driven, innovative, collaborative, and community-centered Executive Assistant to serve as the administrative leader. The Executive Assistant will work directly with the President, performing numerous job functions with the opportunity to use and grow his/her skills within the team. The Executive Assistant will have an immediate impact and will manage new projects and initiatives, as well as maintain existing ones.
Primary Responsibilities
Pay: $40,000 - $60,000

Founding Executive Assistant

Primary Responsibilities
- Managing the administrative aspects of all projects related to the start-up of the school.
- Acting as the point of contact between executives and internal and external colleagues, including board members.
- Preparing meeting agendas, reports, memos, letters, expense reports, and other documents.
- Attending meetings, taking notes, and writing up for subsequent dissemination.
- Reviewing and responding to correspondence and phone calls.
- Managing executives’ calendars.
- Organizing meetings and small events, securing space and refreshments, and acting as host for attendees.
- Coordinating hospitality (e.g. gifts, sympathy cards) for internal and external colleagues, including board members.
- Managing corporate compliance, including timely filing of documents.
- Maintaining current scheduling, filing and related systems, and looking for ways to improve them.
- Project management and departmental coordination and assistance.
- Posting open positions, screening resumes/applications, and coordinating interviews.
- Providing general administrative support.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Helps foster and promote a school culture, rooted in relationships, that values diversity and the unique gifts that all staff, students and families bring to the school community.
- Ensures all supporters of Cristo Rey Charleston High School are welcomed and acknowledged as partners with the school.
- Helps cultivate a positive school culture defined by shared purpose and vision, high expectations, professionalism, and accountability to ensure the success and well-being of each staff member, students and their support networks.
- Serves as a model of the school’s values and mindsets and hold self and others accountable to maintaining high standards and high support; actively promote the regular exchange of affirming and constructive feedback among members of the school’s staff.
- Works with the school staff and community to create and implement the necessary systems to ensure a safe and productive environment and that support the ongoing achievement of School and Network improvement priorities.
- Proven experience as an executive assistant, chief of staff, or other relevant administrative support experience
- In-depth understanding of MS Office suite and Google Workspace
- A proactive approach to situation assessment and problem-solving, with strong decision-making skills
- Professional verbal and written communication skills
- Project management skills
- Time management and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
