Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Field Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting field assessments, performing technical evaluations, and ensuring compliance with project specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to achieve project goals.
Duties
- Serve as point of contact for key clients in our pre-construction and new construction division (Construction Engineering Services or CES) providing but not limited to: technical consulting, project management and review, client management, and general communications.
- Manage projects in accordance with expected deliverables and consulting budget.
- Comply with all State and Federal Safety regulations, including proper use and maintenance of all personal protective equipment.
- Client management including maintaining ongoing interaction with clients, actively participating in project-related meetings, and engaging with existing clients to identify future opportunities.
- Perform inspections and/or work with other Engineering Field Technicians as an unbiased third party at client construction sites, identifying and documenting conforming and non-conforming items and potential areas of concern for quality assurance as it relates to the documented construction plans and building/construction best-practices.
- Lead process for various quality assurance testing at construction sites, including water intrusion testing, etc.
- Write and review inspection reports for clients, ensuring clients receive clear, timely and high quality updates regarding a project’s status in compliance with Criterium Engineers protocols.
- Review construction documents to evaluate a project’s constructability from an engineering, materials and other relevant perspectives (e.g. Constructability Reviews).
- Advise, coach, and develop other technicians within the organization, including corporate and affiliate staff on specialty technical areas.
- Build productive relationships with client representatives on project construction sites, including Construction Manager, Site Supervisors, and others.
- Provide clear and responsive feedback to clients about their projects.
- Utilize project data bases, such as Procore, as required to access client project information.
- As the Face of Criterium on site, prioritize client service while establishing and maintaining positive company reputation.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
