What are the responsibilities and job description for the Internal Medicine Specialist position at Critical Access Network, LLC?
We are seeking a qualified Internal Medicine Specialist to join our team on a PRN basis for ongoing opportunities. This role is ideal for healthcare professionals with backgrounds in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine.
Key Responsibilities :
- Choose between two options for coverage : travel to perform exams at a leased facility or schedule Veterans within your own practice.
- Work options available : half-day shifts (4 hours) or full-day shifts (8 hours).
- Conduct one-time non-treatment C&P exams and separation health assessments.
- Perform mostly interview-based exams with some physical assessments, including range of motion and muscle strength testing.
- No prescribing or treatment involved.
- Quick credentialing and onboarding process.
- DMA certification is available, which includes CME credits; certification is required once privileged if not already certified.
- Use of a Goniometer is necessary.
- Proficiency in musculoskeletal, diabetes, and cardiovascular evaluations is required.
- Experience with METs testing and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions is essential.
- Must have a personal laptop (NO MACs).
- Training will be provided for Reporting / Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs).
- Completed assessments must be submitted within 48 hours of the exam – reports are standardized forms only.
- Evaluations will be conducted in VES's provider portal.
- Record review is required in most cases, along with regular follow-up administrative tasks (addendums, medical opinions, diagnostic readings).
