We are looking for an individual with a janitorial or custodian background who wants to learn and push themselves beyond typical janitorial services. This position will be responsible for the cleanliness of an entire building and data centers including but not limited to common rooms, dining rooms, server and computer rooms, data halls, bathrooms, hallways, offices, conference rooms, and more. Data Centers are some of the most critical and secure buildings on the planet, mainly because of the vital data that is being processed within its walls. The ideal candidate will have a set daily/weekly/quarterly/annual routine with specific repeatable services to be performed on a schedule, but able to adapt to an ever-changing environment.

Responsibilities
- Floor Surface Vacuum **CONSTRUCTION**: Using a HEPA-filtered backpack or canister vacuum, CET’s will vacuum all carpeted and hard surface areas (tile, concrete, linoleum). This process will include vacuuming crevices, underneath desks and tables, around cubicles, open areas, and hallways.
- Damp Mop**CONSTRUCTION**: Using a wave break commercial sized mop bucket with a mop, CET’s will damp mop all hard surface (non-porous) areas using an aggressive surface cleaner with degreasing additives. Wet floor signs will be used in the damp mop areas until they are completely dry. Areas will be cleaned first with the least amount of foot traffic until areas with heavy foot traffic decrease so the area can be cleaned.
- Wall Scrub: Using narrow scissor lifts, if necessary, technicians will first use a HEPA-filtered vacuum with microfiber attachments to vacuum the surface the walls including concrete and drywall. Secondly, technicians will use flat mops, microfiber applicators with a non-abrasive neutral cleaner to wipe walls to remove all contaminates.
- General Surface: General surfaces shall include doors, door post and doorknobs, glass partitions, fire extinguishers, attached wall equipment, supporting structural posts, and standing cages. All surfaces will be vacuumed with a HEPA-filtered vacuum first, then wiped down using a microfiber cloth and a non-abrasive neutral cleaning solution.
- Cabinet/Rack Detail: The areas which have rack post and cabinets will be first cleaned by using forced air to agitate dust and remove from crevices and hard to reach areas. Technicians will blow forced air one direction and use a HEPA-filtered vacuum on the opposite end to catch dust and other contamination being removed. Using dust cloths, technicians will wipe cabinets, racks, cable ladders and equipment structure to remove addition dust. Once visible dust is removed, technicians will use microfiber cloths with an ESD cleaning solution to clean cabinets, racks, cable ladders and equipment structure.
- Data Hall General Surface Clean: CET’s will vacuum walls, support beams and post, doors, and hanging lights using a HEPA-filtered backpack or canister vacuum with microfiber extensions up to 12’ high. The general surface areas will be hand wiped using a lint-free, microfiber cloth with an ESD cleaning solution. Hanging lights will be dusted using a lint-free, microfiber applicator with an ESD cleaning solution.
Skills
- Ability to communicate in English.
- Data Center Knowledge Preferred.
- Ability to correspond via email and phone.
- Ability to safely climb 6’ ladders at times.
- Proven experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar role
- Knowledge of use of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances
- Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components
- Attention to detail and conscientiousness.
- High school diploma is preferred but not required.
- Physical Demands consist of standing, walking, bending, reaching, twisting, working in cramped areas, reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, grasping, lifting to 50 lbs., carrying up to 40 lbs., and stooping.
- Must be able to perform repetitive motion for extensive amount of time.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Scissor Lift Experience Preferred but not required.
Work Schedule
4 Shifts Available
Monday - Saturday 6:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (Morning Shift 2 Available)
Monday- Saturday 2:00-pm – 11:00 PM (Afternoon Shift 2 Available)
Monday-Saturday 9:30 pm – 6:30 AM (Night Shift)
