Description

PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Senior Director of Operations provides strategic and hands-on leadership

across the Information Technology, Maintenance, and Food Services departments at Crittenton Services

for Children and Families. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), this role ensures that core

operational systems are efficient, compliant, and responsive to the evolving needs of a mission-driven,

trauma-informed organization. The Senior Director plays a critical role in translating organizational

priorities into operational excellence supporting a safe, functional, and connected environment for the

youth and families Crittenton serves.

Description Of Duties

Operational Leadership:

  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the IT, Maintenance, Housekeeping and Food

Services departments, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.

  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures that promote the organization's

mission and values.

  • Monitor and evaluate departmental performance, identifying areas for improvement and

implementing corrective actions as needed.

Strategic Planning And Execution

  • Lead initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service quality

across supervised departments.

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to each

department.

Team Development And Supervision

  • Supervise and mentor department managers, providing guidance, support, and professional

development opportunities.

Budgeting And Financial Management

  • Develop and manage budgets for the IT, Maintenance, and Food Services departments, ensuring

fiscal responsibility and alignment with organizational priorities.

  • Monitor expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure resources are allocated

effectively to meet departmental and organizational goals.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as a liaison between operational departments and other organizational units, facilitating

effective communication and collaboration.

  • Engage with external vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring quality

service delivery.

  • Represent the organization in operational matters during audits, inspections, and external

evaluations.

  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across IT, Maintenance, and Food

Services to track departmental effectiveness, operational efficiency, and service quality.

- Utilize data and metrics to identify trends, forecast needs, and support data-driven decision-

making aligned with organizational goals.

Salary: $102,856-$115,000 per year

Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field; a

Master’s degree is preferred.

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in operations management, with at least 5

years in a leadership role overseeing multiple departments.

  • Demonstrated experience managing IT, Maintenance, Housekeeping and Food Services

operations within a nonprofit, healthcare, or social services environment.

  • Proven track record of implementing process improvements and driving organizational

efficiency

Computer/Office Skills Required

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and facility management software.
  • Understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, and cybersecurity principles.

Physical Skills Required

  • Ability to navigate various facility environments, including office settings, residential areas, and

food service operations.

  • Capacity to conduct site inspections and assess operational needs across different departments.

Salary Description

$102,856-$115,000
