Job Summary:
The Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for effectively processing plant tickets and invoicing customers as well as processing cash sale, on account, and misc. deposits. This position is based out of our Corporate Office in New Hampton, IA. This is a full-time seasonal position that reports to the AR Billing Lead and has no supervisory responsibilities. Primary Responsibilities:
- Learn and understand internal coding structure.
- Process customer tickets with a high degree of accuracy.
- Index, validate and attach tickets in accounting software.
- Process customer payments.
- Research over/short payments, working with customers to resolve issues
- Index, validate and attach deposit backup in accounting software
- Review audit reports and be able to recognize and correct errors.
- Strong communication skills answering questions from both internal managers and outside customers.
- Crosstrain with applicable positions
- Communicate and provide excellent customer service to all internal and external stakeholders
- Be prompt and timely for all assigned shifts, schedules, and projects.
- Be aware of and familiar with the Company Handbook
Teach, coach, and work with the team in a constructive manner.
- Consistently keep work area clean and organized to promote professionalism and efficiency.
- Actively participate in any recommended or mandatory training.
- Additional duties as assigned by management, as this job description is non-exhaustive.
- Willingness to perform duties outside the normal scope of work (i.e. work outside normal hours)
Position Requirements:
- Consent to authorization of a pre-employment background check and drug test.
- A two-year degree in accounting or equivalent experience preferred.
- Knowledge of state sales tax is beneficial
- PC proficiency (specifically Microsoft applications) and ability to learn in-house software applications.
- Self-directed and motivated to learn and exceed expectations.
- Work effectively with employees, managers, and government agencies.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Detail and deadline oriented.
- Able to grasp new concepts quickly and maintain a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Understand instructions from supervisory positions, both written and verbal
Preferred Skills and Knowledge:
- Some post-secondary education or office/accounting experience.
