Crofton is seeking a Field Engineer to join our team.
The Field Engineer is responsible for assisting Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers and
Superintendents in the day-to-day responsibilities of the project to which they are assigned. The Field Engineer will be focused on coordinating the activities of a project to ensure cost, schedule, document control and quality standards are met.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Meets daily with project crews to review production schedule & work plans and confirm all
- materials, equipment and resources are readily available for production.
- Coordinates subcontractors on site. Reviews and approves daily timecards for crews.
- Maintains up to date set of Construction Documents at the job site : Construction
- Drawings, Specifications, Shop Drawings, SDS’s, RFI’s, Submittals, Purchase Orders, Construction and Delivery Schedules, QC Plan, NCR Log, HASP, JHA’s, Lift Plans, QC inspections, etc.
- Inspects and tracks deliveries, records any deviations from scheduled deliveries and adjusts delivery dates as necessary to meet Project Schedule.
- Works with the Assistant Project Manager to resolve technical and engineering queries that arise from the field, including drafting / completing documents such as requests for information, technical inquiry forms, and transmittals.
- Procures misc. materials and tools for the project.
- Arranges for surveying and staking out work.
- Provides necessary layouts. Measures and verifies that work to be installed is per construction drawings and specifications.
- Maintains as-builts & red-lined drawings.
- Ensures that work is performed per project QC Plan.
- Initiates and manages appropriate certificates, inspections, and other documentation regarding construction production on the project site.
- Assists Superintendent with meeting health & safety requirements by following approved HASP and maintaining JHA’s, safety inspections, rigging inspections, lift plans, etc. at the job site.
- Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices and rectifies job site hazards.
- Ensures all company employees and contractors are adhering to the company safety policy.
- Reports any safety incident within 1 hour of occurrence.
