The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation is a non-profit, volunteer-fueled organization whose mission is to cure Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis and improve the quality of life for the children and adults affected by these diseases. Our work is dramatically accelerating the research process through our varied research initiatives; we also provide extensive educational and support resources for patients and their families, medical professionals, and the public. In addition, we lead federal and state-based advocacy campaigns to support medical research funding and improve patient access to care. Position Summary:
The Foundation has an exciting learning opportunity available for an intern on the patient education team with the clinical trials program. This is a chance to work within a leading non-profit organization to gain firsthand knowledge on clinical trials and patient education that help an organization accomplish its mission. We are seeking someone for this internship who is high-energy, detailed oriented and a self-starter with strong inter-personal and communication skills.
This is a hybrid internship with 2 days/week in the Foundation's New York City office and 2 days/week remote.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Assist the Clinical Trials program with administrative aspects of clinical trial program
- Support development of marketing assets for patient education resources
- Special project(s) to include working on assessment of clinical trial finder tool, revisions to clinical trials webpage
- Assist with other patient education initiatives as needed
Qualifications:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be pro-active, self-directed, detail-oriented and organized
- Must feel comfortable with exploring technological platforms
- Comfortable engaging and communicating with volunteers
- Past experience in creating trainings, and content
- Ability to interact professionally with multiple and diverse cross-functional stakeholders e.g., Foundation staff, patients, caregivers, etc.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines (with supervision).
- A background in biology or health-related field is preferred
