Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Venue Manager to oversee the operations of our facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality and events management, with exceptional supervisory skills. Starting pay is $16.00 per hour, after that your skill level will determine your pay (lot's of room to grow). As the Venue Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring a seamless experience for guests while effectively managing staff and resources to maintain high standards of service.
Day-Of Venue Manager Instructions
- Arrival & Setup:
- Arrive at the venue at least one and a half hours before the event starts.
- Turn on all lights and ensure the venue is well-lit.
- Ensure all vendor deliveries (florist, catering, rentals, etc.) arrive on time and are set up
correctly.
- Confirm that tables, chairs, and décor are arranged according to the floor plan.
- Make sure the venue is clean and neat for the couple’s arrival.
- Vendor Coordination:
- Check in with each vendor upon arrival and direct them to their designated setup area.
- Ensure catering is on schedule for meal service. {Defer to their planner}
- Oversee sound and lighting setup, ensuring proper functionality.
- Guest & VIP Assistance:
- Greet guests and provide any necessary directions or assistance.
- Ensure the wedding party and VIPs (family, officiant, etc.) have everything they need.
- Keep the timeline running smoothly and discreetly address any delays.
- Ceremony & Reception Flow:
- Have a copy of the couple’s day-of planner itinerary on hand.
- Coordinate with the officiant, DJ/band, and photographers to ensure proper timing.
- Cue the wedding party for processional and reception entrances.
- Monitor transitions between ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing.
- Troubleshooting & Emergencies:
- Be prepared to problem-solve any unexpected issues (weather, missing items, late
vendors).
- End of Event & Cleanup:
- Oversee vendor breakdown and ensure rental items are properly returned.
- Confirm that all personal belongings and gifts are collected by designated persons.
- Walk through the venue to ensure it is left in its proper condition per the contract.
- Final Check-In:
- Communicate with the event host or couple to ensure everything met expectations.
- Check and clean the farm cottage.
- Take all trash out.
- Vacuum and ensure all spaces are tidy.
- Flip the venue for the next wedding if scheduled.
- If no wedding is scheduled, ensure the venue is clean and ready for tours.
- Lock up the venue (if applicable) and report any issues or damages to the appropriate
person.
