LOCATION:
The preferred location for this position in our office in the panhandle of Texas.
EDUCATION:
- Ideal Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Business, Accounting, Finance, anything agriculture or a related field or equivalent experience.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- two (2) years to five (5) years of related business experience.
- Excel proficiency
FUNCTIONS:
- Work closely and constantly with in house spreadsheets
- Provides start-to-finish processing of information to generate a crop insurance policy for customers by collecting premiums, guiding customers through the process, obtaining appropriate signatures, and ensuring that all necessary data is in place for successful underwriting.
- Supports the work of agents performing sales functions in the field by processing data gathered from their sale efforts and directing them as to further the requirements to complete their customer insurance needs.
- Collects data necessary to underwrite crop insurance policies within the requirements of Federal Crop Insurance and Risk Management Agency and performs data entry necessary to originate or maintain crop insurance policies.
- Communicates as required with FSA Office on required documents and communicates as required with customer as needed to gather appropriate data for their insurance needs.
- Maintains awareness of agricultural trends and business activity, Federal Crop Regulations, and legal obligations.
- Maintains required documentation according to retention requirements.
- Works with more senior staff to resolve questions and to grow knowledge of crop insurance processes.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Excel.
- Ability to perform all duties in a manner consistent with ethical standards and confidentiality requirements.
- Ability to reason, judge, compare, calculate, evaluate, and critique such information as written materials, numerical data, responses to customer needs and/or other work-related activities.
- Ability to complete work in an acceptable time period; manage a variety of detailed tasks and responsibilities simultaneously and with accuracy to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives; satisfy internal and external customer needs related to the job.
- The ability to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as, preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer monitor and extensive reading.
