General Summary
The Human Resource Director will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, enforcing company policies and practices, and responding to employee requests, and investigations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to the Executive Pastor
- Manage Human Resource policies, procedures, and implementation for CrossCity
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Conducts or acquires background checks and employment eligibility verifications.
- Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Cross-train with Finance Manager to ensure accounting/finance coverage in the event of their absence
- Completes all LiveScan processes for all employees and volunteers as required by California Law
- Processes and manages payroll
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (in Business Administration, Human Resources or related degree preferred)
- 3-5 years of related experience and/or training (experience with a church is a plus)
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge and Skills
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals
- Ability to write reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before staff members of the organization
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive documents and/or information
- Computer & Technology Skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
- Adaptable to technology enhancements and improvements
- Licenses, Registrations and Certifications
- Current Driver’s License
- Physical Requirements
- Has the ability to function independently. Possess the ability to speak. Has the physical ability to be able to lift up to 25 pounds (with or without assistance). This position also may require long periods of standing up and walking.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
