Position Overview:
We are looking for a flexible, self-starting Junior Interior Designer to assist with a variety of design and installation-related tasks for projects based in Park City. The position offers part-time hours over the next year, with the potential for additional hours based on performance and project needs. As the company’s only interior designer employee, you will play a key role in managing design aspects of our projects and assisting our installation team in implementing those designs on-site. You should be comfortable working independently and able to quickly adapt to the fast-moving nature of the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities:
· Work independently to assist with design concept development, mood boards, color schemes, and space planning for residential and commercial projects.
· Create and refine design drawings and floor plans using design software or hand sketches.
· Assist in the creation of presentation materials, including design concepts and visuals, for client meetings.
· Conduct site visits to take measurements, assess spaces, and ensure design elements are being accurately implemented by the installation team.
· Coordinate with project managers and the installation team to make sure design details align with construction schedules and requirements.
· Research new materials, design trends, and furniture to incorporate into design projects.
· Maintain organized design files, specifications, and project documentation.
· Offer input and suggestions during design meetings and brainstorming sessions.
· Ensure a high level of professionalism and quality control throughout all aspects of the design process.
Qualifications:
· Some experience in interior design or currently pursuing a degree in Interior Design or a related field.
· Strong drawing skills and the ability to create preliminary sketches, floor plans, and designs.
· Familiarity with design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.) is a plus.
· Ability to think creatively and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with both design and construction teams.
· Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
· Willingness to travel to project sites (such as Park City), with a flexible schedule.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Previous internship or work experience in interior design.
- A basic understanding of the construction process is a plus.
- Ability to create 3D renderings or visualizations of design concepts.
- Knowledge of building codes and interior design regulations (or willingness to learn).
