Job Description
As an ultrasonographer, you will use ultrasound technology to take medical images of patients for diagnostic purposes. Working in a hospital, outpatient center, private practice, imaging center or other healthcare facility, you'll prepare patients for ultrasound, operate ultrasound equipment, process images for radiologists and physicians, and handle patient records. You might work in a specialty such as obstetrics, emergency medicine, oncology, or cardiology.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures
- Operate ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality images
- Process images for radiologists and physicians
- Handle patient records and maintain accurate documentation
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- At least 1 year of recent experience as an ultrasonographer
- ARDMS Certification
- BLS Certification (AHA)
- Current state license (if applicable)
