As Vice President of Employee Benefits Compliance, you'd be responsible for ensuring the organization's employee benefits programs comply with all relevant laws and regulations, while also developing and implementing effective compliance strategies and fostering a culture of compliance.
Key Responsibilities:

Compliance Oversight:
- Ensure all employee benefits programs (health insurance, retirement plans, etc.) comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations (e.g., ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA).
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations and industry best practices.
- Identify potential compliance risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Conduct regular compliance audits and assessments.
- Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance and training to employees and management on compliance matters.

Strategic Planning and Implementation:
- Develop and implement employee benefits compliance strategies aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
- Collaborate with HR, legal, and other departments to ensure compliance across the organization.
- Advise management on compliance issues and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of compliance programs.

Communication and Training:
- Communicate compliance requirements and expectations to employees and management.
- Develop and deliver compliance training programs.
- Serve as a point of contact for compliance-related inquiries.

Other:
- Manage and monitor the department budget.
- Evaluate and analyze the results of the programs and services regularly and systematically.
- Establish and maintain long-term networking relationships and centers of influence.
- Participate in industry events and professional development activities.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Law, Human Resources, Business Administration) is typically required; a Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., Certified Employee Benefits Specialist - CEBS) are often preferred.
- Experience: Extensive experience in employee benefits compliance, preferably in a similar leadership role.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of relevant laws and regulations (ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, etc.).
- Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Other: Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience working with employee benefits vendors and consultants.
- Law license preferred
