Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly qualified Director of Engineering to lead and coordinate activities related to maintenance and engineering. This individual will oversee a multidisciplinary engineering team, ensuring the operational efficiency of systems, compliance with safety standards, and the successful completion of projects in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation
Salary range : $180,000 to $200,000 , commensurate with experience and qualifications. Currently no bonus for the position, but potentially sign on bonus negotiated.
Relocation reimbursment available for candidates not local
Key Responsibilities
Lead engineering projects, including repairs, installations, and facility upkeep.
Develop and enforce maintenance procedures while ensuring operational efficiency of equipment.
Manage budgets, timelines, and staff hiring / training for various projects.
Foster workplace safety, hygiene, and compliance with industry standards.
Oversee project planning, resource allocation, and team performance.
Communicate project updates to senior management and ensure timely issue resolution.
Promote continuous improvement through lessons learned and productivity strategies.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in engineering (required); masters degree in business or engineering management (preferred).
15 years of relevant experience in project engineering / management.
Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and automation technology; experience in the food or pharmaceutical industry preferred.
Familiarity with Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), environmental regulations, and audits.
Bilingual (English / Spanish) mandatory.
Skills and Attributes

Hands-on expertise with electrical and mechanical systems, blueprints, and schematics.
