We are currently looking for a senior level systems integration engineer that is interested in managing projects to lead our amazing team of supporting engineers. This position will report to the Director of Engineering and should have a strong background in developing both hardware and software solutions for industrial control systems.

The ideal candidate would be a Senior System Integration Engineer that enjoys technical applications but would also like the responsibility of managing the project from inception to completion. This includes diving into the design and development of the control system, delegating work packages to engineers, managing the project in its entirety and being the single point of contact with our customers.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Exceptional written skills with the ability to develop and/or review supporting project documentation following the Cross Quality Assurance Procedures. This includes but is not limited to the following:
    • Front-End-Engineering-Design (FEED) Study
    • Functional Design Specifications
    • Software/Batch Design Specifications
    • Detail Design Specifications
    • Internal, Factory, and Site Acceptance Testing Documentation
  • Support the sales team on occasion to review proposals and provide feedback on how to better propose a solution so that the project can be executed more efficiently with less risk.
  • Develop others and participate in development of training curriculum in fields related to project management.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • A four year degree in engineering or equivalent related experience is required.
  • Must have at least 10 years experience in developing both hardware and software solutions to support industrial automation control system projects.
  • Experience with managing large controls systems or software based projects is a plus.
  • Experienced with PLC & DCS and/or various SCADA packages is a plus.


REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

Knowledge Required

  • Fluent communication skills in both written and verbal formats.
  • Knowledge of types of delegation and when to use them.
  • Skillful in leading meetings and staying on track.
  • Skilled in handling accountability discussions with project team members to improve performance.
  • Ability to use Gantt tools such as Smartsheet or Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to read and understand project contracts – both our proposal and the customer’s PO.
  • Fluent PC/computer skills including internet based tools such as Google suite and Microsoft tools.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • The work environment varies from typical office environment to plant site environment
  • Travel typically varies from 10% to 30% depending on work assignments
  • Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. Requires walking primarily on a level surface for varying periods throughout the day in the plant site area. Could involve long periods of computer work.
  • Able to lift or carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Physical effort required, continuous mental and visual attention required.
  • The performance of this position includes exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as Safety Glasses with Side Shields and Hearing Protection. Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment. Required to be able to read documents and computer screens.
