Job Position – Kids and Students Special Needs Coordinator – OKC
(Position Description - part-time, hourly, non-exempt, administrative, and at-will)
Location – Oklahoma City
General Scope of Position
The Kids and Students Special Needs Coordinator – OKC at Crossings, will lead and provide a safe and nurturing environment for children with special needs ages 4-18.
This is a part-time position totaling up to 20 hours per week. Actual days and hours of work will be established by your supervisor, and are subject to event schedules as well as department and Church needs which may require days and hours beyond or different from your typical work week.

Organizational Relationships
Reports to Crossings Community Church (CCC or Crossings) Associate Pastor, Kids Ministries - OKC and will work collaboratively and interact regularly with various vendors, CCC staff and volunteers across the various departments and ministries, venues, and campuses, as well with partners of Crossings to accomplish the goals and mission of Crossings’ and its ministries.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Develop an effective special needs ministry for children at Crossings within the ages of 4-18.
- Work closely with the Kids and Students ministry to build and maintain a cohesive relationship to identify the population with special needs, determine best interventions based upon individual needs, and to ensure effective communication to integrate children within the ministry.
- Recruit, develop, and train volunteers and staff to foster a nurturing environment for all children with special needs, with a favorable volunteer to student ratio.
- Modify curriculum for implementation across the special needs’ ministry.
- Maintain student and family information to ensure that it is accurate and up-to-date, while safeguarding personal information.
- Enforce procedures and routines that ensure the safety of students, staff, and volunteers.
- Be proactive in keeping the Special Needs Ministry in alignment with the mission of Crossings.
- Identify, plan and prepare materials to be used by staff/volunteers providing accommodations and support for students with special needs.
- Assist in maintaining the highest possible ministry standards and professional ethics in accordance with the goals, Purpose Statement, and Core Values of Crossings Community Church.
- Support the leadership of CCC, contributing to the spirit of unity among the staff and congregation.
- Represent Crossings in civic and ministry-related efforts as approved or requested.
- Perform any other duties or tasks to accomplish responsibilities associated with this position or as may be needed or assigned to fulfill the needs, mission and goals of Crossings’ ministries.

- Be a proven and effective leader in the areas of responsibility attached to this position.
- A multi-tasking team player with high energy, strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
- Possess a current unrestricted driver’s license.
- Ability to effectively interact with staff regarding areas of responsibility.
- Willingness to work in a team environment, develop the ministry, and address the special needs of children ages 4-18.
Physical & Other Requirements for Position
- Be able to walk a long distance (up to a quarter of a mile); and be able to lift and carry 25-35 lbs. parcels for distances of up to 500 feet.
- Able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
- Possess a current unrestricted driver’s license.
- This is a safety sensitive position where the employee holding this position has the responsibility of his/her own safety and the safety of others including minors.
