Student Support Services Coordinator - Andrews Academy Charter School
Location/Schedule: Winston-Salem, NC, on-site; 1st shift Monday - Friday, with some weekend/evening hours depending upon events/program needs
Your Impact: As the Student Support Services Coordinator at Anderson Academy, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of children by managing student data, supporting school-wide testing, and fostering strong family and community connections. By overseeing administrative tasks, you’ll contribute directly to the educational experience of students, providing them with the foundation they need to thrive. Your work will have a lasting impact on the academic, emotional, and social well-being of our students, making a difference in the community and aligning with our mission to create healthy futures for children and families.
Hiring Range: $44,500 to $50,000 annually

Education/Experience/Licensure:
  • Bachelor's degree required. Degrees in education, business administration, or related field preferred.
  • 3 years of full time experience required in administrative operational functions including general office tasks, calendar scheduling, record keeping, with knowledge of finance, HR, and task management.
  • Experience with social services organizations, schools, or medical field preferred.
  • Experience supporting Principals or school leadership preferred.
  • A relevant combination of education and experience may be considered.
Skills and Competencies:
The Student Support Services Coordinator should possess the following technical and soft skills to be successful in the role:
  • Administrative & Organizational Skills: Ability to manage high-level administrative support, organize schedules, and keep detailed records using programs like Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Student Information Systems (SIS), such as Infinite Campus.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail when handling student data, ensuring accuracy in all reports and data entry tasks.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, staff, parents, and external partners.
  • FERPA Compliance & Confidentiality: Deep understanding of FERPA guidelines and maintaining confidentiality when handling sensitive student information.
  • Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: Ability to independently resolve issues and make decisions according to established policies, while maintaining a calm demeanor in crisis situations.
  • Time Management: Skilled in managing multiple priorities efficiently, particularly during busy times such as testing seasons or data reporting periods.
  • Collaboration & Relationship Building: Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external stakeholders, building strong, positive relationships that foster student success.
  • Leadership: Experience in leading teams, such as test administrators or parent volunteers, to ensure successful event execution and high standards of performance.
  • Cultural Competency: Ability to work with diverse populations and contribute to an inclusive, respectful work environment.
  • Flexibility & Innovation: Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and find innovative, creative solutions to challenges.
  • Customer Service Orientation: Enthusiasm for helping students and families, providing excellent support and assistance in a professional, compassionate manner.
Key Responsibilities:
The Student Support Services Coordinator will be responsible for:

Student Information Management:
  • Enter and maintain student data (attendance, medical information, enrollment, withdrawals) in the Student Information System (SIS).
  • Communicate with staff and respond to inquiries about student attendance and other student-related information, ensuring FERPA compliance.
  • Compile and prepare files for administrators, teachers, and guidance staff.
  • Generate and review reports (grades, attendance, bus stops, enrollments, withdrawals, etc.) for accuracy.
Testing Administration:
  • Organize and coordinate school-wide testing schedules, working closely with administration.
  • Develop site-specific test administration plans and assign test administrators, proctors, and accommodations.
  • Train and supervise test administrators and proctors on ethical testing practices, test security, and accommodations.
  • Ensure testing security and proper handling of materials, submitting results to administration and overseeing testing procedures.
  • Address any test anomalies and misadministration, documenting issues and following up with appropriate action.
Instructional Support:
  • Support teachers in delivering the NC Standard Course of Study by coaching on classroom management, pedagogy, and content knowledge.
  • Lead focused academic conversations, promoting effective instructional strategies.
  • Analyze and report data to improve student achievement and contribute to Professional Learning Teams (PLTs).
  • Assist with state assessments and professional development workshops.
Parent and Family Engagement:
  • Plan and coordinate parent engagement activities, including workshops and meetings, based on stakeholder input.
  • Build partnerships with families and the community to support student learning and engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with federal guidelines (ESSA), maintaining records and communications regarding parent engagement activities.
Other Duties:
  • Perform additional related tasks as assigned by the principal, adhering to Title I guidelines and ESSA requirements.
