CrossOver Healthcare Ministry provides compassionate, high-quality healthcare to the uninsured and medically underserved in our local community through the operation of two healthcare clinics: one in the City of Richmond and one in Henrico County. CrossOver is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that offers comprehensive healthcare services to its patients, including primary care, specialty care, dental, vision, behavioral health, HIV/AIDS care, OB/GYN, medications and medications management, and social work case management.
Position Summary:
The Bilingual Medical Receptionist (Bilingual Patient Advocate) ensures the seamless delivery of quality and compassionate healthcare services. This position requires a strong commitment to administrative excellence, effective communication, and a genuine passion for assisting patients. Key responsibilities encompass various facets of administrative support, ranging from front office duties to facilitating essential services such as imaging, labs, and specialty care referrals.
Position/Title: Bilingual Medical Receptionist (Bilingual Patient Advocate)
Supervisor: Clinical Operations Manager
Status: Full Time, 40 hours, non-exempt
Salary: $18 per hour
Hours: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 11:40 AM – 8:00 PM; Wednesday and Friday, 8:15 AM – 5:00 PM. Weekends may be required.
Location: Henrico Clinic, 8600 Quioccasin Rd. Richmond, VA 23229, some work at the Richmond clinic (108 Cowardin Ave. ) may be required.

Key Responsibilities:
- Patient eligibility screening
- Appointment scheduling
- All scheduling of imaging referrals
- Answering phones re medications, referrals, and appointments
- Assist with medical records requests and faxing
- Medical interpretation
- Medical scribing
- Data entry
- Secures the appropriate patient and insurance information
- Validate insurance information & and eligibility
- Assist with eClinical issues
- Assist the Front Desk Supervisor in training front desk volunteers, interns, and staff on electronic health records and front office policies and procedures
- Assist volunteers on the clinic floor (providers/nursing support/scribes/interpreters) with questions regarding CrossOver policies
- Cross-trained in Operation Center processes.
Key Qualifications:
- Bilingual Spanish/English
- Familiarity with medical environment/diseases
- Efficient organization
- Clear communication
- Comfortable using and entering data into the computer
- Able to multitask and problem-solve
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Ability to work and communicate with a diverse population
- Decision-making skills for unpredictable patient scenarios
- Capacity to multi-task
- Proficient in computer software programs: Excel, Word, etc.
