We are seeking a Crisis Responder for our mobile crisis response team in Vermilion County; located in East-Central Illinois. Our crisis workers are the point of contact for all mental health crisis calls, 24 hours a day, seven days a week; whether someone just needs to talk over the phone and be given coping skills or they need to be assessed in person which can include facilitating a safety plan, a psychiatric hospitalization, or referrals to help them return to their previous level of functioning.
Crisis Counselor Job Responsibilities:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
· Complete assessments of mental status, history, strengths, needs, and abilities
· Complete crisis assessments to meet the requirements of the State of Illinois and Crosspoint
· Complete specialized assessments as indicated
· Complete treatment agreements at the time of crisis
· Complete progress notes for services rendered within 24 hours of providing service
· Make appropriate referrals to area resources and facilitate those referrals as able
Crisis Counselor Job Requirements:
· Requires a Bachelor's degree in a Human Services related field; Master Degree preferred. (Master's level candidates must be able to be credentialed as a QMHP as defined by the State of Illinois)
· Requires sound knowledge of human services field; especially mental health counseling
· Must be capable of working with a multidisciplinary team
· Sound holistic assessment skills are required with the ability to think and operate in a broad conceptual level as well as with detail
· Demonstrate the ability to handle stressful situations
· Demonstrate maturity and sound judgment
· General computer skills with the ability to learn and operate agency's software
· Valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
Schedule:
· Monday through Friday 8Am to 5PM.

· Holiday pay at time and a half or double time for holidays worked

Crisis workers respond to crisis calls that include over the phone counseling and de-escalation as well as in person response to emergency departments in Danville and Hoopeston, the Public Safety Building in Danville.
Crisis counselors are paid $0.55 per mile from their starting point, to the point of the crisis response, and return.
