About the Role:
We’re looking for a compassionate and motivated Veterinary Assistant to join our outpatient team. This is a hybrid role that combines hands-on outpatient care with front-desk responsibilities. You’ll be the friendly face our clients see at check-in and the steady hand supporting our doctors in the exam rooms. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, client-focused, and passionate about patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Outpatient / Clinical Duties:
- Safely restrain dogs and cats
- Collect and prepare diagnostic samples (ear cytology, FNA, fecal, urine, blood)
- Run in-house diagnostics (SNAP tests, urinalysis, Sedivue, etc.)
- Review treatment plans and estimates with clients
- Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked exam rooms
- Collect and update patient histories accurately
- Educate clients on disease prevention, vaccine schedules, and medication usage
- Administer oral, injectable, ophthalmic, and topical medications
- Assist in vaccine administration and monitor for vaccine reactions
- Follow all safety and infectious disease protocols
- Submit medication requests and assist in prescription filling
- Understand basic medication classes and side effects
- Support radiograph setup and adhere to radiation safety
- Assist with e-collar sizing and basic nutritional planning
Reception Duties:
- Greet clients and patients with warmth and professionalism
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Answer multi-line phones and handle client inquiries
- Enter new client and patient information into Cornerstone software
- Provide reminders, estimates, and client education handouts
- Invoice services and take payments
- Communicate effectively with clients in person, over the phone, and via email
- Ensure accurate and timely check-in and check-out processes
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in a veterinary setting (assistant or receptionist) preferred
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Confidence using computers and veterinary software (Cornerstone a plus)
- Calm, compassionate, and organized under pressure

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
