What are the responsibilities and job description for the Skills Trainer position at Crossroads Continuum?
Under the supervision of the Team Leader, the primary duty of the Skills Trainer-1 is responsible for helping participants achieve the goals and objectives outlined in Individualized Support Plans (ISP), Behavior Management Guidelines (BMGs), and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). General Responsibilities: Ensure the supervision and safety of assigned participantsComplete high-quality work with minimal errors.Follow and be familiar with the guidelines in the Employee Handbook.Follow and be familiar with the guidelines in the Parent Handbook.Comply with HIPAA and FERPA guidelines.Drive program participants and staff in Crossroads Continuum vehicles as needed. (During program hours only)Complete the RBT training program within 90 days. Start the process of taking the Registered Behavior Technician exam within six months of employment.
Perform other duties as assigned.Direct Care Respnsibilities: Aid in daily living activities, including self-care and hygiene, food shopping and preparation, budgeting, leisure activities and social skills.Support individuals in accessing the community safely and as independently as possible.Create and implement social groups. Case Management Responsibilities: Provide case management up to three clientsMaintain case clientss program book per guidelines.Update/create case clientss program book per new ISP within 5 program days of it being signed.Update/create materials for case clients as needed Update/create curriculum sheets as needed.Update/create behavior data sheets as needed.Update Behavior Management Guidelines, as assigned by the Program Manager.Maintain case clients electronic files per guidelines.Summarize and enter data daily.Monitor program participants progress and immediately alert the Team Leader of needed changes. Assist the Team Leader in program development and modification.Communicate parent concerns immediately to the Team Leader and Program ManagerComplete end-of-day tidying responsibilities of case clients materials and the program rooms. Communication: Follow lines of communication specified in the Organizational Chart.Share relevant information with colleagues and supervisors.Asks questions when something is unknown or unclear.Actively recognize the accomplishments and contributions of others.Accept performance feedback gracefully.Check and respond to email daily.Practices confidentiality and maintain a high standard of ethics.Show support for Crossroads Continuum.Serve as an ambassador for Crossroads Continuum.Attendance, Participation, and Timeliness: Demonstrate punctuality and an appropriate attendance record.Complete timecards according to protocol.Meets assigned deadlines with minimal prompts.Attend and actively participate in meetings.Attend Crossroads Continuum events (e.g., Open House, Annual 5K Walk/Run).
Educational and Experiential Requirements: High School diploma required. Bachelors degree in education, behavior analysis, or related field, preferred1-2 years of experience in the field of autism, education, or human services field preferredA valid driver's license, acceptable driving record and reliable transportation is required.Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check including references, CORI, and fingerprinting.Skill and Ability Requirements: Interest in building a career in nonprofit service for individuals with developmental disabilities.Caring, compassionate, hardworking, and punctual. Proficient oral and written communication skills.Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.Ability to multitask and prioritize to meet deadlines.Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Ability to pass a background checkPhysical Requirements: The ability to move quickly and confidently to intervene when protective holds and/or movements are necessary.The ability to pursue a bolting student.The ability to successfully complete Safety Care trainingAbility to physically work with the client (may involve running, squatting, lifting, prompting and physical management)
