Crossroads Counseling Inc. was founded in 1990 and is one of the most inclusive dual diagnosis treatment facilities in Clinton, Lycoming, Centre, Northumberland, Columbia, and Tioga counties along with being a Center of Excellence in Pennsylvania. We believe in treating the whole person in any way we can. We offer a variety of services including individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, psychiatric services, wellness services with on staff nurses, certified recovery specialists, prison services, school services, community- based services, domestic violence intervention programs, and medicated assisted therapy. We have a wide variety of diverse counselors who use different counseling approaches like EMDR, attachment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and many other techniques to focus on each patient’s needs.
Crossroads Counseling, Inc. has an opening for a Certified Recovery Specialist in Williamsport. Qualified applicants will have completed the Certified Recovery Specialist training and either be certified by the PCB or eligible and willing to attend the required CRS trainings and become certified. This position does require the applicant to have a history of drug or alcohol and to have at least 18 months of sobriety.

Recovery Specialist’s job expectations:
- Consistent support and guidance before, during and after any and all treatment episodes;
- Encourage and identify educational and employment opportunities;
- Help individuals to build or rebuild positive, constructive relationships with family and others;
- Introduce and engage individuals in the recovery community;
- Accompaniment to community support programs and meetings;
- Encouragement and offering accompaniment to alcohol and drug free social and recreational activities and;
- Provide ongoing assistance for individuals in obtaining and/or maintaining services from multiple systems (e.g. mental health, CYS, criminal justice, etc.).
- Offer guidance on the recovery experience, to include stage appropriate recovery education;
- Offer support related to obstacles that are often encountered during the early stages of recovery;
- Assist in the development of an individualized Recovery Plan;
- Facilitate access to various community resources to ensure basic needs are met;
- Monitor the individual's recovery stability;
- Offer referrals to treatment services when necessary.
The Recovery Specialist will meet with eligible individuals on a one-on-one basis at various locations throughout the area, such as local restaurants or libraries, as well as at treatment facilities in and out of the county. Services offered by the Recovery Specialist will include outreach, mentoring, peer support and guidance, as well as resource information and referral. The Recovery Specialist will work closely with individual before, during and after their treatment experiences to support and assist them in their recovery, in understanding and navigating the system of care, as well as to encourage and guide any necessary connections with other service systems.
