Title: Maintenance Painter
Reports to: Facilities Director
Purpose: Responsible for general painting and providing a safe and clean work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Advocates for the mission of the organization and upholds the agency's values.
- Prepare surfaces, mix paints for different needs, and apply them with brushes or rollers to fill cracks or apply color on walls, ceilings and other objects around facilities.
- Prepare walls and other structures for painting by scraping, sandpaper, removing old paint etc.
- Repair damaged surfaces, holes, and cracks. (Compound)
- Exam surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary to fulfill assignments.
- Perform routine painting maintenance.
- Complete work orders as assigned.
- Timely completion of unit turnovers and common area painting.
- Provide superior customer service.
Experience and Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Apprenticeship, technical or building trade education helpful.
- Proven experience as a painter.
- One year or more of painting experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix and apply them.
- Solid knowledge of residential and/or commercial painting techniques.
- Well organized, able to prioritize own work and maintain material inventory.
- Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.)
- Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders etc.
- Conscientious with great attention to detail.
- Quick learner interested in expanding knowledge and experience.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Team builder- inspires and motivates others to perform their best.
- Can work effectively independently as well as a member of a team.
- Commitment to Task-is tenacious, can achieve results in an environment where priorities change quickly.
- Must complete ladder safety training.
- Must have valid drivers license.
Physical requirements
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders, etc.
- Ability to work in an environment in which the job is performed, such as working in hot, cold, dusty, etc. conditions.
