Salary Range: $80,000.00 - $137,000.00 Salary
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Curriculum:
- Define, create, and implement a clear vision for the Middle School innovation program.
- Develop student-driven projects in design thinking, coding, innovation, and 3D printing.
- Design and teach classes in the Middle School Technology Lab and partner with teachers and departments to integrate technology into cross-curricular lessons.
- Design and teach robotics classes for middle school students, fostering creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on learning, while collaborating across grade levels to develop a cohesive K-12 robotics curriculum.
- Create an engaging and safe environment in the Maker Space and the Middle School Technology lab.
- Lead discussions with parents and students on digital safety and relevant educational technology.
- Present content for school-wide events like Digital Citizenship Week, Week of Coding, and other department specific events surrounding innovation.
- Attend department meetings to foster cross curricular collaboration and design.
- Proficiency using laser cutter, cricut, and other technological tools
Innovation & Technology Support:
- Oversee all aspects of the Maker Space and the Middle School Technology Lab.
- Facilitate the Digital Leadership Program for grades 6-8.
- Collaborate with the Technology team on system updates, software training, and ticketing system management.
- Provide leadership on the adoption of new technologies or programs for the division.
- Support tech needs for school events, faculty meetings, and online meetings.
- Manage budget requests and onboard new faculty with tech tools like gradebooks and class webpages.
- Assist parent community with tech concerns i.e. blocking games, messages, social media, etc.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Robotics, Computer Science, Engineering, Technology Education) required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience working with middle school faculty/students in a classroom or maker space environment.
- Expertise in STEAM, particularly in design thinking, coding, robotics, and digital fabrication, game design, digital fabrication.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to engage professionally with teachers, students, parents, and administration.
- Experience with 2D/3D design/printing, game design, robotics, microcontrollers, woodworking, and stop-motion animation.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for creating innovative learning experiences across multiple disciples/subjects.
Additional Skills:
- Proficiency in project-based and inquiry-based learning models.
- Ability to manage and troubleshoot classroom technologies and learning management systems.
- Ability to write lesson plans in a tech-arts field in which you are passionate/skilled.
