Crossroads School is a faith-based alternative middle and high school, changing the lives of students from hard places by providing individualized, mastery-based, highly-relational education. We are looking for a full- or part-time Development Director who will work closely with our Executive Director to promote our alternative school and grow our fundraising program. As a small nonprofit, we need staff who can be flexible and do what needs to be done; the majority of this position will be development work such as donor development, community relations, presentations, writing letters, managing the donor database, helping to produce newsletters and social media posts, planning and executing events, etc. But it will also include 2 hours a day covering the school reception desk, as well as administrative, clerical, and other tasks as needed. The position is primarily during school hours but will include some evening and weekend activities.
Responsibilities
- Front Desk (two hours each morning): This position will include screening and admitting guests, then greeting and welcoming them; maintaining security by following sign-in/out procedures for all visitors; answering, screening, and forwarding incoming phone calls and texts and/or taking messages; making calls and sending texts as needed to help with communication with parents; managing attendance records for students and staff; keeping a safe, clean, and attractive reception area
- Event Planning, including all aspects of fundraising and development events, volunteer management, donation solicitation, vendor arrangements, advertising, execution, and follow-up
- Donor Management, including telephone, mail, email, and text communication with individuals and groups; arranging and conducting meetings and presentations; and maintaining donor database
- Marketing, including social media, mail, and email campaigns and in-person displays
- Grant writing, management, and follow-up
- Assisting administration and staff with clerical and other tasks on request and as time allows
