Now Hiring : Mechanical Engineer – On-site at a Leading Japanese Automotive Manufacturer (Princeton, IN) 📍⚙️
Are you a mechanical engineering expert with strong hands-on experience in building system startups, commissioning, and construction oversight ? We’re looking for a highly skilled professional to lead mechanical installations, safety compliance, and contractor coordination at a major automotive manufacturing facility in Princeton, IN .
What You’ll Do :
Lead mechanical & electrical building system startups and commissioning
Review and approve engineering design drawings, submittals, and RFIs
Ensure compliance with OSHA, LOTO, arc flash safety, and hazardous energy controls
Coordinate with contractors and vendors for equipment testing, installation, and handover
Inspect work progress, ensuring adherence to quality and project specifications
Manage weekend and plant shutdown projects with contractors and plant teams
Oversee mechanical contractor activities to meet milestones and coordination needs
Prepare status reports and provide project feedback for continuous improvement
Must-Have Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Strong knowledge of mechanical safety standards & OSHA requirements
- Expertise in building codes & industry standards (IBC, NEC, NFPA, ASME, ASHRAE, etc.)
- Experience in construction administration & project scheduling
- Ability to conduct mechanical system inspections and provide technical feedback
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects efficiently
Job Details :
Location : Princeton, IN ( On-site from Day 1 )
Duration : 12 months (possible extension)
Overtime : Up to 25% (weekdays, weekends, shutdowns, holidays, odd hours)
Travel : 20% (domestic)
PPE Required : Steel-toed shoes, hard hat, safety glasses ( provided on-site if needed )
