Job Description
As one of our summer camp staff, you will join a group of experienced educators, storytellers, paddlers, musicians, explorers, naturalists, archers, and trackers as we look for creative ways to excite the passions of our kids. As staff, you will have a supportive environment to share your gifts and skills during our themed week-long camps. You will be asked to work collaboratively as well as to lead groups independently. We take a full week in the beginning of the summer to plan, prepare, and get to know each other, while also using this time to train our Middle School Apprentices and Interns. The rest of the summer is spent supervising kids, leading activities for small groups and working with other staff to ensure a safe and adventurous camp experience.
Dates: June 16 - August 8, 2025
Hours: Mon - Fri, 8:15am-3:45pm
Wage: $20
Lifeguard Training (June, 16)
Responsibilities
- Design and lead dynamic activities for campers in all kinds of weather
- Facilitate group dynamics that support a variety of gender, racial, and other identities
- Participate in collaborative programming and group facilitation
- Show up on time and ready to go with materials for guilds and other activities
- Communicate with parents on a daily basis
- Independently lead kids in nature based activities
- Supervise activities with a keen sense of safety and risk management
Required Skills
- Previous experience working with kids in an outdoor environment
- Commitment to emergent design and flexibility with program implementation
- Valid driver’s license, clear background check
- WFR/Lifeguard Certification beneficial, but not required
