    Primary Purpose: The Quinnite School Network (QSN) Middle School Academic (CCMR) Counselor plays a critical role in preparing students for the transition to high school and beyond. This position focuses on helping students explore future career paths, high school endorsements, college readiness, and military opportunities, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills to make informed decisions about their future.

    By working closely with students, families, teachers, and school leadership, the CCMR Counselor will provide guidance on academic planning, career exploration, financial literacy, and leadership development. This role is essential in equipping students with the mindset and tools needed for long-term success in their chosen educational or career pathways.

    Qualifications:

    Education/Certification:
    • Master's degree in counseling, education, career development, or a related field (required)

    Major Responsibilities and Duties:

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Academic Counseling & Student Success: Provide and coordinate course selection for rising 5th,
    6th, and 7th-grade students. With a greater focus on assisting 8th-grade students in choosing a
    Career & Technical Education (CTE) program of study. Balance of classes of the master schedule and
    adjust student schedules as needed.
    • College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) Programming: Implement CCMR-focused initiatives
    that help students explore post-secondary options, high school endorsements, and workforce
    opportunities. Offer information on JROTC, military academies, and enlistment opportunities for
    students interested in military service.
    • High School Transition & Career Planning: Guide students in choosing high school endorsements
    and career pathways aligned with their interests and goals.Introduce students to career clusters,
    interest inventories, and industry certifications to spark early career awareness.
    • College Readiness & Financial Literacy: Provide early exposure to college options, scholarships,
    and financial literacy resources to help students and families prepare for post-secondary
    education.
    • Academic Advising: Support students in understanding graduation requirements, dual credit,
    Advanced Placement (AP), and CTE pathways. Provide individualized academic, career, and leadership
    support.
    • Academic Coaching & Support: Assist students with study skills, goal-setting, organization, and
    time management to ensure academic success. Help students explore career interests, leadership
    opportunities, and extracurricular involvement. Monitor student academic progress, provide
    interventions, and ensure student achievement. Identify and support at-risk students through
    academic interventions and counseling. Attend and coordinate 504 meetings and participate in ARD
    meetings to support student needs.
    • Student Leadership Development: Encourage and facilitate student participation in clubs, student
    government, community service, and mentoring programs. Organize and plan college visits and
    academic field trips to promote higher education awareness.
    • Family & Community Engagement: Partner with parents and guardians to provide resources,
    workshops, and guidance on high school and post-high school options. Communicate regularly with
    parents regarding student progress, academic planning, and behavioral support.
    • Individual & Group Counseling: Offer one-on-one and small-group sessions focused on personal
    growth, emotional wellness, and academic motivation. Identify students in need of intervention
    services and work collaboratively with support staff to develop plans.
    • Crisis Support: Collaborate with administrators and counselors on crisis response planning to
    ensure student safety. Provide immediate support for students in crisis and connect them with
    appropriate resources when necessary.
    • Program Leadership & System Support: Plan, organize, and evaluate the school’s comprehensive
    counseling program. Ensure compliance with district and state policies related to counseling,
    student support, and intervention services.
    • Partnership Development: Collaborate with high schools, colleges, businesses, and military
    representatives to create CCMR exposure opportunities for students.
    Data-Driven Decision Making: Use student performance, interest surveys, and CCMR indicators to
    track progress and provide targeted support.

    Successfully advance district initiatives.


    Salary
    $63,806 – $76,874
    • Salary determination will be based on verified relevant work experience.
    • Salary will be adjusted to start date.
    Program Stipend:
    • Stipends include additional days during the program academic year as outlined in the stipend agreement.
    • ***STIPENDS ARE GRANT FUNDED***
    • FUTURE FUNDING IS BASED UPON THE AVAILABILITY OF THE GRANT
