Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our accounting team. This is an entry level role that is essential in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of general ledger accounting, and financial concepts, along with proficiency in accounting software. Duties
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain the general ledger by recording debits and credits in accordance with GAAP.
- Prepare and review invoices for accuracy before processing payments.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Utilize accounting software to manage financial records and generate reports as needed.
- Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports.
- Maintain organized records of all financial transactions for easy retrieval.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Clerk or similar role.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting principles and financial concepts.
- Familiarity with compliance standards.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with team members and vendors.
- High level of integrity and professionalism in handling sensitive financial information.
- Experience in bookkeeping or banking is desired.
