Travel Requirement : 50% to facility locations.
Job Summary
The HR Business Partner reports to the Vice President, Human Resources within Crown Bakeries. This position performs a key role in the Human Resources function to support and lead a segment of on-site human resources teams by directing the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including but not limited to : recruitment and retention strategies, employee engagement, hourly labor staffing, employee relations, labor relations, compliance (EEOC, FMLA, ADAA, Reasonable Accommodations, E-Verify, etc.), investigations, and implementing company policies and procedures to support operations at the plant level in conjunction with Crown’s mission, vision and values.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Execute company priorities and departmental strategy as determined in conjunction with the VP, Human Resources, determine the proper course of action and interact with the appropriate individuals to manage, complete analysis, measure KPI’s and make recommendations.
- Report to VP, Human Resources for Weekly and Monthly Summary meetings and others as determined.
- Analyze workforce data and trends to identify opportunities for improving operational efficiency, employee engagement and retention.
- Develop strong partnerships with Plant and Departmental Leadership Peers. A member of the HR Leadership team.
- Develop HR Dashboard Metrics for key responsibilities and monthly reporting.
- Monitor and manage key HR budgets items assigned.
- Support document review and preparation for monthly “Deep Dive” meetings at each facility.
- Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in human resources and employee relations
- Collaborate with management to develop and implement workforce strategies.
- Ability to set performance standards and individual onboarding & development plans for on-site HR teams.
- Work in conjunction with HR Director, Administration to implement employee compensation and benefits programs for Crown employees at designated locations.
- Work in conjunction with the Manager, Learning & Performance to help define onboarding procedures in alignment with our company culture to include Orientation process and 30-60-90-day programs.
- Help design and implement company policies that comply with our business objectives in addition to supporting employee well-being.
- Ensure all designated HR operation teams adhere to legal standards at the Federal, State and Local levels.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to manufacturing leaders, providing strategic HR guidance to meet business goals.
- Formulates and recommends program goals and objectives in all areas of employee relations.
- Maintains satisfactory labor-management relations and participates in collective bargaining grievances, negotiations and ensures compliance with collective bargaining agreements as applicable.
- Partner with Safety and Operations teams to promote a culture of health and safety, support worker’s compensation process.
- Investigates problems such as working conditions, disciplinary actions, and employee and applicant appeals and grievances. Provides guidance and recommendations for problem resolution to department leaders and individuals.
- Drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement, motivation, and satisfaction within the manufacturing environment.
- Prepares and presents both required and special ad hoc reports related to recruitment, employee, and labor relations.
- Effectively recommends hiring, promotion, termination, disciplinary and recognition actions of all assigned personnel.
- Support Acquisition and Merger activities as required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT :
This job operates in both an office and production plant environment. The employee is occasionally exposed to facility elements such as noise, dust, fumes, and odors. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, cell phones and photocopiers. Ability to travel / drive to locations is required.
