Responsibilities
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring new employees, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and resolving problems.
- Trains and instructs employees regarding sanitation standards, GMPs, SSOPs and department objectives.
- Maintains and updates all SSOPs, Master Sanitation Schedule, and department forms.
- Works with Management to develop procedures and techniques for verifying and validating the effectiveness of current sanitation procedures.
- Plans, assigns, and directs all work activities of the Sanitation Supervisor, Sanitation Leads, and Sanitors. Verifies that all activities are performed with attention to high standards of food safety and quality, in compliance with all regulatory and customer requirements and focused on continuous process improvement.
- Compiles required reports regarding plant sanitation inspections, sanitation violations, and corrective actions to resolve deficiencies.
- Audit Compliance
- Ensures that the facility is Audit Ready at all times and represents the Sanitation Department during Regulatory, 3rd party and Customer Audits.
- Develops Corrective Action procedures and conducts employee trainings for any audit deficiencies noted.
- Manages the Sanitation Department budget and explores cost savings and continuous improvement options to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Works closely with chemical consultant in reviewing chemical usage and operating procedures as well as keeping abreast of new technology.
- BS or other relevant 4-year degree
- Minimum 5 years related Food Manufacturing experience
- Analysis skills for problem solving and decision making
- Superior communication skills
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Basic mathematical and statistical skills
