JOB TITLE: SLI Stacking DEPARTMENT: Manufacturing
JOB SUMMARY: The SLI stacking position is responsible equipment set-up and change over while making sure the equipment stays in operational condition, if necessary, troubleshooting to ensure the proper cells are produced for flooded/acid AGM batteries. This position interacts closely with the production shift supervisor and other production operators. The SLI stacking position much be able to attain minimum productivity requirements once fully trained in the area.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for:
- Understanding and following policies, procedures and instructions.
- Identify and report product, process and quality system non-conformities to lead personnel.
- Supporting implementation of corrective/preventative and improvement actions.
- Proper use of personal protective equipment where required.
- Upkeeping day-to-day housekeeping of the surrounding production floor area.
- Responsible for loading position and negative plates into respective magazines.
- Loading leaf separators (Eberle) into respective magazine or installs separator roll (Daga & Scrubber Stacker) to feed separator material through the machine and into the enveloper.
- Ensures positive plates are wrapped appropriately (Daga & Scrubber Stacker) and adjusts when necessary.
- Offbears and inspects cells to ensure proper orientation, correct plate count, correct lead separator count (Eberle only), and the overall quality of the envelope (Daga & Scrubber Stacker only).
- Will stack cells onto pallet in correct orientation (Daga & Scrubber Stacker) or places cells onto conveyor leading to COS Machine (Eberle).
- Identifies completed skid of stacked cells with stacking tags (Daga & Scrubber Stacker) and communicates to forklift operator for removal.
- Be familiar and compliant with the systems, procedures, and documentation of the Crown Quality System and how it relates to this position and Crown quality objectives.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 18 years of age
- Experience with safety and environmental training
- Minimum 1 year manufacturing/factory experience preferred in a fast paced setting
- Basic math and computer skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, supervision, and management
- Familiar with inspection equipment, gauges, and measuring tools
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand/walk for 8-10 hours at a time. Bending, twisting, and turning. Full use of both hands to finger, handle, or fell objects, tools, or tooling; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel crouch or crawl; talk to hear. The employee must be able to lift or move up to 75 pounds frequently and in excess of 140 pounds infrequently. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Must follow OSHA guidelines on respirator fit testing and proper wear. Will wear goggles or face shield at all times while in department.
