Industrial Battery Cell Assembler - 2nd shift

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

- Ensures produced parts meet specifications and quality characteristics.

- Heat seal cells, and burn on buttons

- Operate heat seal machine and hand torch

- Interacts and works closely with production shift supervisor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Is responsible for:

· Understanding and following policies, procedures and instructions

· Identifying and reporting product, process and quality system non-conformities to lead personnel

· Controlling nonconforming products

· Supporting implementation of corrective/preventive and improvement actions

2. Be familiar and compliant with the systems, procedures and documentation of the Crown Quality System and how it relates to this position and Crown quality objectives.

3. Housekeeping

4. Runs cells thru the heat seal machine, leak test cell and followed by bonding the post to the cover bushing using a burning ring and a hand held torch.

5. Skid cells into a tub or a skid (depending on where they are going).

Connect the cells into a circuit so they can go to the next operation of forming.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age
• Experience with safety and environmental training
• 1 year of Factory/Manufacturing experience
• 1 year of Machine operation experience

Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, supervision, and management

Work Environment

This job operates in an industrial plant floor environment. This role routinely uses industrial equipment and tools and works near moving mechanical parts and may wear a respirator for all or part of a shift.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand/walk for 8-10 hours at a time. Be able to bend, twist and turn.

Use of both hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or tooling; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear.

The employee must be able to lift or move up to 75 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, at minimum of 8-hour shifts. Must be able to work all mandatory overtime as required; this could lead to working weekday and weekend overtime.

Monday-Friday, (Saturday and/or Sunday as needed)

6:15 am - 2:45 pm 1st Shift

2:15 pm - 10:45 pm 2nd Shift

10:15 pm - 6:45 am 3rd Shift
