Responsibilities and accountabilities for this Manager role include but are not restricted to the following areas :
Assist in developing Master Schedule requirements from demand forecast, plant capacity, and historical data. Interact with production and sales personnel to update and advise of progress and new developments. Manage volume and manufacturing location changes as needed to meet customer requirements Monitor inventories of raw material, work in process, and finished good in an effort to minimize costs and achieve plant inventory goals Oversee development and maintenance of tools that enhance production planning capability. Audit plant for compliance in department standards and practices Assure inside sales and plants utilize the ‘system’ through on site auditing and clear tracking metrics Maintain accurate needs attention inventory and implement measures for improvement Drive continuous improvement through training and strategic planning Minimum Requirements
BS degree in business, logistics, operations research, or related area 5 years of experience in a production planning / logistics / materials handling role Certificates in APICS, CPSM, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing are highly desired Knowledge of AS400 operating systems is a plus Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office with specific emphasis on Excel, Access and Word Ability to develop processes, train end users, and implement projects to completion Capable of managing changing business needs and requirements Proven record of applied critical thinking in a variety of situations, and taking calculated initiative to drive improvements Effective oral and written communications Competencies
