Position Overview :
The General Labor role serves as a key function in the operation and on-going maintenance of the high-speed manufacturing equipment that produces both metal cans and ends at the Dubuque, Iowa manufacturing location.
Duties And Responsibilities :
Reporting directly to manufacturing floor supervision and management, the Janitor or General Labor responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following :
- Maintain all housekeeping inside the manufacturing plant
- Operate scrubbing machinery as needed
- Sort finished product and support operations as a machine operator when needed
- Use approved solvents to remove grease, dirt, build-up from all equipment and machinery as well as the general facility
- Wipe and clean out all oil pans
- Clean and wax floors and perform maintenance tasks and yard work duties as needed
- Dispose of all cleaning waste, press units, etc. as directed
- Maintain cleaning records as required
- Support in keeping all equipment clean and orderly
- Keeping the work area clean and organized, performing minor tasks as directed by the line maintainer here qualified
- Observe and practices company safety rules and SOP’s at all times
- Communicate all pertinent information between departments, peers and between shifts on changes to equipment, production schedules, production problems or any other related information.
- Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned
