Operator/Palletizer/Bagger- MTWTHF 230pm- 1030pm

Position Overview:

The Palletizer, Bagger and Entry Level Equipment Operator roles serve a key function in the operation and on-going maintenance of high-speed manufacturing equipment that produces metal cans and ends at our Iowa manufacturing location.

Duties And Responsibilities:

• Operate the automatic can palletizer, inserting separator sheets between layers of cans, and placing top frames on completed pallets
• Sort and inspect cans, print pallet tickets, and perform quality checks
• Keep the work area clean and organized, performing minor tasks as directed by line maintainers
• Support line maintainers in operating production lines when qualified
• Assist in preparing, loading, and feeding metal coils
• Remove jams from production lines
• Inspect finished cans and ends for defects, recording information
• Assist in removing metal dies, lubricating when needed, and replacing cans
• Operate automatic bulk packing machinery to load/unload various size cans onto pallets
• Remove old ID tags, apply correct ones, and maintain numeric sequence of pallets
• Observe and practice company safety rules and SOPs at all times
• Maintain finished product flow as required
• Communicate pertinent information between departments, peers, and shifts
• Work with employees to identify, discuss, and implement solutions to machinery and equipment problems
• Perform other job-related duties as required or assigned

Requirements:

• High School Education/GED or equivalent preferred
• One or more years' experience in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Requirements:

• Vocation or technical certification
• High-speed packaging industry experience

Physical Requirements:

• Sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally

Working Conditions:

• Mainly in a plant environment, occasional movement around the manufacturing floor
• Exposed to moving mechanical parts, vehicular traffic, varying temperatures, and loud noise levels
