What You’ll Do:
- Develop Engaging Programs: Plan, organize, and coordinate a variety of recreational activities that cater to residents’ interests, abilities, and needs.
- Lead Activities: Facilitate group and one-on-one activities, ensuring participation and enjoyment for all residents.
- Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work with nursing, therapy, and dietary staff to integrate activities that support residents' physical and mental well-being.
- Assess Resident Needs: Evaluate residents' preferences and abilities to create personalized and inclusive activity programs.
- Enhance Social Interaction: Foster a sense of community by promoting social engagement and meaningful relationships among residents.
- Coordinate Volunteers & Entertainment: Organize visits from community groups, entertainers, and volunteers to enrich the activity schedule.
- Maintain Compliance: Ensure that all activities meet regulatory requirements and support the mission of our facility.
- Certification: Certified Activity Director (ADC) or willingness to obtain certification preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience in activity coordination within a long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation setting is preferred.
- Creativity & Enthusiasm: A passion for engaging seniors through innovative and stimulating programs.
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple activities and adapt programs to meet diverse needs.
- Team Player: Willingness to collaborate with other departments to ensure comprehensive resident care.
