New Lebanon Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is a leading skilled nursing facility committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care to our residents. Guided by our mission of Excellence in Care, we are currently seeking an Activity Director to join our dedicated team and enhance the lives of our residents through engaging and meaningful activities.

Position Overview:

As an Activity Director at New Lebanon, you will play a pivotal role in creating and implementing activity programs that promote social engagement, physical well-being, and cognitive stimulation for our residents. You will work closely with residents, families, and staff to ensure a vibrant and enriching environment that supports the overall quality of life of those in our care.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop Engaging Programs: Plan, organize, and coordinate a variety of recreational activities that cater to residents’ interests, abilities, and needs.
  • Lead Activities: Facilitate group and one-on-one activities, ensuring participation and enjoyment for all residents.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work with nursing, therapy, and dietary staff to integrate activities that support residents' physical and mental well-being.
  • Assess Resident Needs: Evaluate residents' preferences and abilities to create personalized and inclusive activity programs.
  • Enhance Social Interaction: Foster a sense of community by promoting social engagement and meaningful relationships among residents.
  • Coordinate Volunteers & Entertainment: Organize visits from community groups, entertainers, and volunteers to enrich the activity schedule.
  • Maintain Compliance: Ensure that all activities meet regulatory requirements and support the mission of our facility.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Certification: Certified Activity Director (ADC) or willingness to obtain certification preferred.
  • Experience: Prior experience in activity coordination within a long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation setting is preferred.
  • Creativity & Enthusiasm: A passion for engaging seniors through innovative and stimulating programs.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple activities and adapt programs to meet diverse needs.
  • Team Player: Willingness to collaborate with other departments to ensure comprehensive resident care.
