Crown Laboratories, Inc. is currently recruiting for a Senior research Scientist
This position will be located in Johnson City, TN - (On-Site)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Working knowledge of Emulsion and Surfactant chemistry. Expert in cosmetic Formulations.
- Experience with problem definition & experimental design/execution.
- Working knowledge of cosmetic ingredients and should be well versed at modifying existing formulas to meet changing regulations as well as improving cost. Familiarity engaging with chemical suppliers is a must.
- Excellent communication (verbal, written) and interpersonal skills required with high sensitivity to a very diverse global culture.
- Ability to work independently in a matrix environment.
- Well organized and flexible with the ability to lead/ manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced highly matrixed environment while meeting established deadlines
- Lead partnership with process development group for scale up of all Crown Formulations.
- Collaborate in cross functional teams.
- Understanding of patents and functional knowledge of patent search strategies.
- Mentor junior staff
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- BS/MS degree in Chemistry or other related discipline.
- 5-10 years of experience in cosmetic/personal care, OTC, Toiletries & Hair Care formulation development.
- Formulation technology skills with an eye towards new technical trends.
- Prefer familiarity with OTC/Cosmetic regulatory requirements and cGMP.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing with the ability to communicate complex data effectively.
- Must possess the ability and desire to prioritize workload, multi-task and manage time effectively.
